How to download and update gt n8000 firmware download Samsung are one of the most desirable gadgets that can be bought on the market as well as it is long lasting, so this is why people need to know how to update android firmware on Samsung.
After dealing with several leaked Android 4.4.2 updates, now we can finally update the Galaxy Note 10.1 N8000 handset to OTA KitKat firmware as the XXUDNE4 software has been rolled out. The official OTA release has been made available in Germany and it will soon embrace all the Galaxy Note 10.1 devices. In case you haven’t received the OS until now, or if you want to manually flash the same, you can use this dedicated step by step guide in order to check how to install XXUDNE4 Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS on the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 model number N8000 using Odin.
As mentioned Samsung just rolled out the OTA XXUDNE4 Android 4.4.2 OS for the Note 10.1 in Germany, but since this is an over-the-air release, the firmware will arrive gradually, so not all the Note 10.1 users will receive the update at the same time. Also, the same software will be made available gradually depending on each market, thus, if you are tired of waiting, a manual flashing procedure is more than recommended for you. Of course, by using a manual update method you will install the same firmware as the OTA one therefore you will not deal with a custom ROM but with the stock XXUDNE4 OS.
But, before deciding in installing the firmware on your tablet manually, check for the OTA notification – just go towards “menu – settings – about phone – software version”. If you notice that the XXUDNE4 can be downloaded, before doing anything else ensure that you can use a WiFi connection as this is a major update. Do note that if your Note 10.1 is rooted or installed with a custom ROM, the OTA will not be there and you will have to manually flash the stock / official Android 4.4.2 KitKat firmware.
This step by step guide is compatible with both rooted and locked devices, though the root access (if it has been previously gained) will be revoked once the steps from below are being completed. Using this tutorial will be helpful when trying to remove bugs or issues from your tablet and also when trying to fix a soft bricked Galaxy Note 10.1 N8000. Why? Well, because you can manually flash the stock or official Android OS, thus you will restore your device to its default state – all the factory restrictions will be reinstalled, the system will be relocked and the default Android OS re-flashed.
As I have mentioned above, in order to safely complete this update procedure Odin will be used. This is an official program developed and offered by Samsung, so you have nothing to worry about. This is an official operation and you will not lose your Note 10.1 warranty when installing Android 4.4.2 XXUDNE4 OS. Furthermore, if you have voided the warranty now you can restore it – bookmark this guide as who knows when you will need it. Also, even though this is a safe procedure, you should read all the guidelines and you should be careful when applying g the steps from below – if you mess things up, you can end up in damaging or in bricking your Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1.
Now, when using Odin and when updating with an official Android OS, there shouldn’t be any kind of problems. But, on rare cases, after completing the installation procedure, your data might get corrupted or even wiped out. So, in order to avoid bad things from happening, before doing anything else, complete a backup operation – basically save everything from the internal storage memory by using backup and restore apps from Google Play (at least take care of your contacts, docs, text messages, market apps, EFS and internet settings).
Then, ensure that you can use a Windows powered computer and make sure that you can connect this computer to your Galaxy Note 10.1. And for making things right on your computer deactivate the security protection because tools like antivirus or antimalware can interfere with our work. Also, on your tablet go to “menu – settings – developer options” and enable the USB debugging option. Moreover, check the battery status on your device and if there is less than 50% power left, plug in the charger – you can brick your handset in case it gets turned off in the middle of the update operation.
This tutorial is compatible only with the N8000 model of the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1. So, use the steps from below for installing XXUDNE4 official Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS only if you own the mentioned Android device.
How to Update Galaxy Note 10.1 N8000 to Android 4.4.2 Official KitKat XXUDNE4 Firmware
Do note that after completing the update operation, your device might get stuck in a boot loop. For resolving this problem, you will have to enter your Android tablet in recovery mode and from there you need to select “wipe data factory reset”, “wipe cache partition” and “wipe dalvick cache”. In the end pick “reboot system now” and you are done.
Also, note that Odin might get stuck at some point. If that happens, don’t panic and just close the tool and disconnect your Note 10.1. Then, force restart your tablet and on your computer reinstall the drivers. Finally, try to re-apply the update process once more.
So, that was all; you have successfully updated your Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 N8000 to official Android 4.4.2 KitKat XXUDNE4 OS.

After update to 4.4.2 my tablet seems to lost screenshot button. Also the 'normal' volume down and power do NOT work. Any ideas to fix this.?

On my 4.4.2 GT-N8000, you have to remove the S-Pen, hold the button on the pen and then press the pen against the screen for a second, keeping the button pressed on the pen. The screen will capture and show you a preview
Terribly cumbersome, the old snapshot button and on the bottom nav bar with auto-saving was much better. There's possibly third-party apps available that would make it a little easier to take a screenshot.. I haven't bothered to check

Hi, I got kitkat in my N8000, it was really easy following the instructions. Made no wipes, so all my files and apps are still there. The performance is great, but sometimes, suddenly, it becomes laggy for a few seconds.. Not nice.. I think it's getting better, so I will wait for a couple of days.. But I think I that those wipes will be necessary.. Excuse me for my horrible English..
